چکیده

Records of mass fish deaths were found in different data sources for this study. A map Turkey was also realized the first time. We aimed to present a review distribution freshwater ecosystems Turkey, mostly Marmara Region and Aegean Sea Region, where there are intensive industrial agricultural activities. Fish parasites generally occur equilibrium with their hosts natural environments. In which highly affected by human activities have extremely rich ichthyofauna, negative effects pollution on environmental parameters, can directly affect fish, emergence overextension cause supplementary synergic direct effect transposition due deterioration host immunity wounds induced bacterial, viral, fungal pathogens be effective. Finally, these factors influence rate survival skew structure populations. Mass been frequently reported but usually only explained as single accepted anthropogenic stressor. Together pollution, bioecological stressor, qualitative quantitative characteristics parasites’ association variations should assessed monitored potential complex precursor indicators communities’ structural degradation ecosystems’ dreadful conditions. biomonitor species used identify Turkish ecosystems, not future. An optimum management plan include all physico-chemical factors, parasites, elements involved permanent assessment monitoring

Parasites of ornamental fish in Turkey

Six commonly freshwater ornamental fish, namely Poecilia rediculata (guppy); Poecilia sphenops (black molly); Cichlosoma sp. (Cichlidae); Xiphophorus maculatus (platy); Carassius auratus (goldfish) and Symphisodon discus (discus) were examined for parasites during a four years study (19982002) in Turkey. The parasites species found included: Ichthyobodo sp., Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, Chilod...

Greater diversification of freshwater than marine parasites of fish.

The species richness of freshwater environments is disproportionately high compared with that of the oceans, given their respective sizes. If diversification rates are higher in freshwaters because they are isolated and heterogeneous, this should apply to parasites as well. Using 14 large datasets comprising 677 species of freshwater and marine fish, the hypothesis that freshwater parasites exp...

Bacterial pollution indicators in the intestinal tract of freshwater fish.

A study was made of the occurrence, distribution, and persistence of coliforms, fecal coliforms, and fecal streptococci in the intestinal tract of freshwater fish. A total of 132 fish representing 14 different species were used in various phases of these experiments. Examination of the intestinal contents of 78 fish from moderately polluted sections of the Little Miami River indicated that feca...
